West Texas Challenge 2023 is completed. Looks like it was a good time hosted by Permian Basin Model Aircraft Club in Odessa.
2023 WEST TEXAS CHALLENGE
Overall, there were 12 pilots flying in the 2023 WEST TEXAS CHALLENGE contest. In no particular order they were: Alan Delger, Bjorn Baal, Conrad Nerdahl, Dan Powell, Garret Rathburn, Jimmy Allen, Ken Rogers, Michael Hicks, Mike Schoggin, Robert Evans, Travis Taylor and Wilton Stewart. These pilots flew a grand total of 170 judged sequences.
Travis Taylor won the Basic class. There were 4 pilots in Basic. The winning order was: (1) Travis Taylor, (2) Robert Evans, (3) Bjorn Baal and (4) Michael Hicks. They flew 6 known sequences (3 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 338.1 to a high of 1,000 (a range of 661.9 points).

The tightest competition was for 2nd place in the Basic class, with only 5.3 points difference between Robert Evans and Bjorn Baal.
