To all NC IMAC members,
We are getting so close to the beginning of the 2023 IMAC NC season and we are very excited to get everything rolling. Here's an overview of this year's activities so far;
- We have 11 contests planned this year (CANADA events TBD), so we hope it gives everyone an opportunity to make it to many contests this year.
- We have 2 Primer Clinics planned in May hosted by Dave Pierce in Cincinnati OH and Matt Komar in Temperance MI.
- There is also a Practice Day/Judging Practical by Toby Silhavy in Muncie IN, on May 6. This will be a great opportunity to get together, learn, fly and have fun.

As ARDs and RDs there have been several changes in leadership. Due to health reasons, Toby Silhavy stepped down as Regional Director in February. The IMAC Board asked me to step in as a temporary Regional Director (RD). I accepted, and after 60 days of zero nominations for RD, I was made RD for the rest of the term.
Toby has been RD for a few years and we all cannot express how much we appreciate his dedication to IMAC and the North Central Region. He has given countless hours of his own personal time to grow North Central and make every year great. We are forever grateful.
Bill Teeter, Matt Komar, Mike Roxberry, and Brendan Grace have stepped down as ARDs. This is a huge loss to the NC IMAC community, and we will miss their wealth of knowledge, insight and ability to teach.
-Bill Teeter has been an ARD for several years and has been instrumental in teaching classes for judging school and instructing at contests.
-Mike Roxberry has been an ARD for several years also. He was a wealth of knowledge to new Contest Directors, and the IMAC community.
-Brendan Grace has been an ARD for 1 year and has a passion for IMAC and worked hard on improving IMAC in his area.
-Matt Komar has been an ARD for a few years and has been an asset to North Central. He has been instrumental in teaching judging schools, teaching at contests, promoting IMAC whenever he can, and has brought in new contest sites for us to enjoy.
As the current RD and ARD group, we want to thank all these individuals for their hard work over the years in promoting IMAC and making it better. If you see them at a contest, please thank them for their service and hard work. Let’s have a great 2023 IMAC NC season.
Introducing the 2023 IMAC Assistant Regional Director Leadership Team.
Lou Matustik, who has been a Rc Modeler for over 20 years, as well as an ARD for other RDs for several years. He is a wealth of knowledge and brings a lot of great foresight and experience to the team.
Jim Hugg, a previous ARD, is great at helping the IMAC community grow, teaching, and helping wherever he can. Him and his wife April have been a great asset to the region.
Rob Weismiller, new ARD, specializes in helping the new people. He has great expertise in helping the new pilots get comfortable and a part of flying IMAC. His son Bentley, the 10-year-old wonder, flying with him is a great example of the endless possibilities of IMAC being a family sport.
Rob Willis, previous ARD, who is the NC designated Cook! He brings a lot of great networking to the community and is head of the NC marketing. He does countless hours of behind-the-scenes work for the region.
David Pierce, new ARD, has been part of the IMAC community for 5 years. He works hard diligently getting new members and growing the NC community.
I can’t be prouder of the great people supporting the region, as well as my Regional Director role. Countless hours go towards making the region run smoothly, and it takes a team of people to be successful. We are here as a TEAM to help the North Central Community.
